Tax Notes: House Democrats Introduce Bill to Restore Boosted IRS Funding
Sarah C. G. Christopherson, a senior adviser to progressive nonprofits and former legislative and policy director for Americans for Tax Fairness, said Democrats are attempting to fix a problem they helped to create.
“Kudos to the House Democrats who introduced legislation this week to restore IRS funding,” Christopherson told Tax Notes. “But, let’s be clear, this bill wouldn’t be necessary if Democratic leaders hadn’t aided and abetted GOP efforts to gut that funding in the first place.”
